The Nebraska Division of Economic Growth (DED) is now approving applications for the growth of budget friendly rental real estate with the HOME American Rescue Strategy (HOME-ARP) Program. For organizations applying to take on HOME-ARP rental housing jobs, funding is also offered for not-for-profit operating and capacity-building support.
In 2021, Congress appropriated $ 5 billion of American Rescue Strategy funds to decrease being homeless and rise real estate security. The funds are being administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) via the HOME Investment Collaborations Program (HOME). The State of Nebraska obtained funds from HUD through the HOME-ARP Program for use in the locations beyond the city limits of Lincoln and Omaha. DED expects to honor around $ 4 9 million via the HOME-ARP Program.
HOME-ARP funds may be utilized to acquire, rehabilitate, or construct budget friendly rental housing mostly for tenancy by homes of individuals and households that fulfill the interpretation of one or more of the certifying populations.
